Grooming Amenities

At Altitude Animal Hospital, your pet’s comfort is important to us, and our grooming amenities are designed with their best interests in mind. We offer grooming services six days a week in a calm, serene, and clean environment. All our grooming is done one-on-one, meaning that our groomers work on one dog or cat at a time, which allows your pet to be their primary focus during the grooming. You don’t have to worry about leaving your pet with us for the whole day either, as most grooms are completed within 2 hours. Dogs are invited to roam the grooming area at their leisure when they’re not being groomed. And with state-of-the-art grooming equipment, Altitude offers a comfortable grooming experience for even the largest or most senior breeds of dogs.

FAQs

What do grooming services include?

All grooming services are based on your pet’s needs. We provide any combination of bathing: shampoo and conditioning, full haircuts, breed-specific haircuts, partial haircuts/trims, de-shedding, de-matting, nail trimming, anal glands, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and more! See our pricing sheet for the full list of services.

How often should my pet be groomed?

Grooming frequency varies on breed and type of coat. Generally speaking, most pets can benefit from professional grooming every 4 to 8 weeks. Our groomers are happy to evaluate your pet’s coat and determine the appropriate schedule for you and your specific pet!

How long does grooming take?

Grooming duration can vary based on the pet’s size, hair coat, and services requested. Generally, your pet is at our facility between 1 to 3 hours. Your groomer will send you a text message 20 minutes prior to your pet being ready for pickup!

When should my puppy have its first groom?

It is important to have your puppy in for its first grooming appointment once it has completed its puppy vaccinations. For a first puppy groom, we start with a bath and brush to help your puppy adjust to the sights and sounds of grooming. We want to teach them that grooming is a fun and relaxing experience so that future grooms are not stressful experiences!

Will my dog be put in a crate?

Generally speaking, our grooming patients are free to roam throughout the grooming area. Some dogs tolerate the drying process better with a kennel dryer. If your dog is not suited for the more social environment, let us know, and we will be happy to accommodate!

I have a senior pet. Can they be groomed?

Here at Altitude, we know that as dogs and cats age, their needs change. Our groomers are well-versed in working with animals who require special care! Each groomer has experience with pets who suffer from arthritis, deafness, blindness, etc. You can rest assured your pet is in safe hands with our doctors and medical staff on-site if any issues or concerns arise.

I have an aggressive or fearful pet. Can they be groomed?

Yes! Our groomers have experience with pets of all temperaments and work to ensure that every pet can have a grooming experience that suits their needs. We offer a variety of accommodations to make your pet more comfortable, and our groomers are happy to work with you and create the care plan most appropriate for your furry friend!

If you believe your pet would be a candidate for sedated grooming, schedule an exam with our veterinarians, and we will be happy to create a treatment plan!

What if I am not happy with the service I received?

Your satisfaction is very important to us. If you are unhappy for any reason with your groom, contact Altitude within 48 hours, and a time will be scheduled for your pet to return for adjustments at no cost.
